Choi Seong-kyu, chairman of the Korea Transformer Industry Cooperative, is once again demonstrating his leadership by successfully winning a fourth term.
The Korea Transformer Industry Cooperative (Chairman Choi Sung-kyu) held a temporary general meeting on the 2nd to hold the 7th chairman election and unanimously decided to reappoint the current chairman Choi Seong-kyu. As a result, Chairman Choi will lead the cooperative for the next four years until 2028.
Chairman Choi is a key veteran in the transformer industry who has served as the head of the cooperative for 12 years since 2012, after first taking office as chairman of the Transformer Association through a by-election in 2011.
This year, the strategy is to make all-out efforts to support the cooperative at the member companies’ level to preempt the global market in line with the trend of the transformer super cycle (ultra-boom period).
Chairman Choi Seong-kyu expressed his strong will, saying, “This year, the union will not settle for the domestic market, but will focus on establishing global standards that can adapt to the global market,” and “Transformers are essential parts of our lives as power supplies, so we will make ESG, RE100, and other values pursued by humanity our global standards.”
In particular, the union plans to significantly expand the global competitiveness and profit generation of its member companies by helping them advance into the global market.
To this end, the union plans to provide its member companies with ESG and RE100 support systems, overseas expansion guidelines, and business information that can help them advance into the global market.
Chairman Choi said, “We are reviewing ways in which the union can support its member companies by establishing rooftop solar power plants in factories and participating in RE100 as a policy.”
In addition, the union announced that this year’s target order volume for the irrigation market is 100 billion won.
