Choi Seong Kyu, CEO of Elpowertech (pictured), has contributed to the development of the domestic transformer industry by developing everything from general transformers to special dry-type multi-transformers and oil-immersed transformers for 38 years.

Elpowertech has achieved an average export growth rate of 674% over the past three years. Exports have accounted for 85% of sales over the past two years. It is evaluated to be supporting the boom in transformer exports. In 2022, it signed a contract to supply pad transformers to the Los Angeles (LA) region of the United States, and in 2023, it signed a contract to supply distribution transformers to the eastern region centered on the Midwestern region of the United States, and in 2024, it signed a contract to supply distribution transformers to the southeastern region of the United States, Canada, and Brazil. It is expanding its influence by signing contracts worth a total of 150 million dollars in the North American market. It is also developing markets such as Japan and Asia. In 2006, it signed a contract with Yaskawa of Japan to cooperate on phase-change dry-type transformers and reactors, and expanded its market share by supplying high-quality transformers.

In 2023, we signed a $1 million pad transformer supply contract with the Philippine Electric Association, and are contributing to market development and export expansion through supply contracts with major global companies. We have successfully developed dry transformer (25KV, 10MVA class) technology for inverters, which is essential for manufacturing production infrastructure, and are achieving an import substitution effect for Japanese and European products.

We are creating jobs and practicing ESG management by obtaining certification for the International Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001), and Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
